As part of efforts to strengthen security services within Montserrado County District number five Representative, Priscilla Abram Cooper,has officially broken ground for the construction of new office facilities for the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in the Swakanmoh Community.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held over the weekend, brought together residents, local leaders, and government officials, marking what many described as a significant step toward strengthening security services in the district.

The initiative is intended to expand the presence of law enforcement institutions and address growing safety concerns raised by community members.

Speaking during the ceremony, Representative Cooper said the construction of the police and drug enforcement offices forms part of her broader commitment to improving security across communities in District number five.

She maintained that strengthening security infrastructure is vital to protecting lives and property while promoting peace and stability within the district.

According to her, the project received support from national stakeholders as well as community leaders who contributed both financial assistance and construction materials toward the development of the facilities.

The District number five Representative noted that the collaboration demonstrates a shared commitment between government institutions and community members to promote safety and order.

Representative Cooper further stressed that security remains one of her top priorities as a legislator.

Rep. Cooper explained that establishing offices for both the LNP and LDEA will enhance the capacity of security institutions to respond quickly to incidents, combat drug-related crimes, and maintain law and order within the community.

Residents who attended the ceremony welcomed the initiative and expressed optimism that the presence of the security institutions will help reduce crime and improve public safety in District number five.

Meanwhile, joint security officers representing the leadership of both the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, including John Brown and Patrick Karzulu, assured residents that the facility will enhance security services and effectively address the needs of surrounding communities once completed.
