Karnplay City, Nimba County – October 11, 2025:
In a powerful display of unity and community spirit, Deputy Labor Minister for Administration, Hon. Othello Mensuo, led a high-impact “Back to School” fundraiser at Kahn High School in Karnplay City. The event aimed to support underprivileged students in Karnplay and surrounding communities, ensuring access to quality education for every child.

The fundraiser brought together a diverse group of government officials, business leaders, and community members, all united by a shared commitment to uplifting Liberia’s next generation through education.

The event’s momentum surged as Assistant Labor Minister Steve Kolubah, serving as Chief Launcher, opened with a L$300,000 donation. He was followed by Co-Launcher Michael Ticky, who pledged a generous L$1 million. With a campaign goal of L$4 million, the initiative reached a significant milestone when Representatives Ernest Mensweah and Nehker Gaye, along with other prominent sons and daughters of Gbehley, collectively committed an additional L$2 million.
In his keynote address, Hon. Mensuo underscored the critical role of education in national development.
“Education is the light that guides nations out of poverty and hopelessness. When we invest in our children, we invest in the future of Liberia,” he stated.
The event was widely praised as a beacon of hope and a call to action, with many attendees commending Hon. Mensuo’s dedication to youth empowerment and community development. The fundraiser not only raised substantial funds but also reignited a collective passion for ensuring that every Liberian child has the opportunity to learn, dream, and succeed.
