The Civil Service Agency (CSA) has announced that it has saved a total of $89,577.60
USD through the seizure of salaries from non-compliant officials. The
funds, held in an escrow account, were officially presented to President Joseph
Boakai and subsequently transferred to the Ministry of Education.
The money will be used to implement the “One Child-One Chair”
initiative, a presidential program designed to improve classroom seating for
schoolchildren across Liberia.
According to CSA Boss over 2,000 chairs will be produced by
local carpenters from the Monrovia Vocational Training
Center (MVTC) and the Booker Washington Institute (BWI).
This approach not only addresses the urgent need for student seating but
also promotes local craftsmanship and job creation.
The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to transparency,
accountability, and practical investment in education infrastructure.
