Former Montserrado County District #2 Representative Candidate Expresses Optimism About Weah Return

Kokulo Borvor, a staunch supporter of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), has voiced strong optimism about the potential return of George Weah to the Liberian presidency.

According to Borvor, the current Unity Party-led administration under President Joseph Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Koung has failed to deliver on the promises that brought them to power.

He argued that the Boakai-Koung government rode a wave of propaganda and public discontent, but has since struggled to address critical national issues such as youth unemployment, infrastructure development, and economic revitalization.

Borvor believes that the growing public dissatisfaction could pave the way for a CDC resurgence in the next elections, possibly reinstating Weah’s leadership.

Commenting on President Boakai’s recent call for National unity, Kokulo Borvor argued that it is unrealistic and lacks sincerity.

He accused President Boakai of being a key contributor to the prolonged legislative impasse that gripped the Liberian government for over seven months.

According to Borvor, the President’s leadership approach has failed to promote the cooperation and consensus necessary to move the country forward, especially at such a critical time when effective governance is needed.

Borvor emphasized that reconciliation and unity cannot be achieved through rhetoric alone, especially when the political environment is marred by mistrust, poor coordination, and what he described as “partisan posturing.”

He furthered that President Boakai’s administration has not demonstrated the level of political will or neutrality required to resolve the deep divisions within the Country.

Borvor cautioned that unless the executive branch takes concrete steps to rebuild confidence and public trust, calls for national unity will remain hollow.

He encouraged the President to lead by example, urging him to abandon divisive politics and genuinely foster a climate of transparency, accountability, and collaboration.
