A civil society organization named Amplifying Rights Network has announced that preparations are in full swing for its highly anticipated second Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Conference, which is expected to kick off from October 8-10, 2025, in Monrovia.

This year’s conference is under the theme “Breaking The Barriers: Advancing SRHR For All,” and will focus on advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights for everyone, with particular emphasis on addressing stigma, promoting youth participation, and strengthening health systems.

The conference aims to assess the current state of SRHR in Liberia, especially concerning adolescents, as well as rural and marginalized populations.

It will identify persistent gaps in service delivery, policy implementation, and public health law while proposing actionable, rights-based strategies to improve access and equity in SRHR services.

Policymakers, health professionals, youth organizations, civil society representatives, and international development partners will convene for this important event.

With its theme, this year’s conference promises to be the most inclusive and action-oriented yet, with a bold new approach that extends the conversation beyond the capital through five regional satellite hubs located in Buchanan (Grand Bassa), Gbarnga (Bong), Ganta (Nimba), Zwedru (Grand Gedeh), and Tubmanburg (Bomi) counties.

According to a release, pre-conference activities have already taken place, including youth dialogues, media engagements, and stakeholder roundtables, which have laid the groundwork for a dynamic and impactful gathering.

“The SRHR Conference 2025 is not just about dialogue; it’s about action,” said Atty. Facia B. Harris, chair of the Amplifying Rights Network. “We are creating a platform for transformative commitments that will shape a healthier future for everyone.”

Madam Harris noted that key features of the event will include keynote speeches from distinguished global and regional leaders, plenary sessions, and technical workshops covering contraception, safe abortion, gender-based violence, health systems strengthening, and digital innovations in SRHR.

There will also be interactive panel discussions, technical workshops, youth-led sessions amplifying young voices in SRHR decision-making, and networking opportunities for non-profits, research institutions, and tech solutions, among others.

This second national SRHR Conference will feature esteemed guests from the global and national community, including Dazon Dixon Diallo, a renowned global advocate for women’s health and founder of SisterLove, Inc., alongside Nobel Peace Laureate Laymah Gbowee of the Gbowee Foundation Africa and other global SRHR champions.

The conference is organized by the Amplifying Rights Network in collaboration with key partners.

The 2025 edition marks a major milestone in national advocacy for SRHR.
