Liberia’s Ambassador for youth and sports development Ambassador Alioune Kebe has shower praises on the female national team of Liberia for their recent performance and success in Mauritinia.
Speaking when he identified with the players as part of his usual gesture as a sound of motivation to the young talents Amb. Kebe said the players determination, resilience, and representation of Liberia on the regional stage was very impressive and deserves commendation.
“This team has not only played with heart but has also inspired a nation. Their efforts at the WAFO tournament showed the world the strength and potential of Liberian women in sports,” said Ambassador Kebe.
Amb. Kebe presenting a cash motivational package to the players for a brilliant job well done indicated that the contribution is a token of appreciation and encouragement for what they have achieved and including what lies ahead for them.
The just ended WAFO tournament which marked a milestone for Liberian women’s football, and Ambassador Kebe’s support also underscores the growing recognition of the team’s role in promoting national pride and gender equality in sports.
Acknowledging the timely and motivational intervention to the female national team, The Liberia Football Association (LFA) also commended Ambassador Kebe’s gesture, which the LFA’s desrcribed as a vital boost for women’s football in the country.
“Support like this is what helps build a future for our athletes. We encourage others to follow Ambassador Kebe’s example”, the football house official added.
At the same time, the Team’s captain expressed gratitude on behalf of her teammates. “We are deeply thankful for this generous support. It means a lot to us to know that our efforts are being recognized. This will motivate us to train harder and aim even higher.”
Among other things, The donation is expected to go toward team’s welfare as the squad begins preparations for upcoming international fixtures.
Additionally, the donation was made in recognition of the team’s outstanding performance at the recently concluded West African Football Organization (WAFO) Tournament, where the team secured an impressive third-place finish.
Meanwhile, the gesture by Amb. Alioune Kebe was among other things meant to show admiration and support for Liberia’s rising female athletes, with a donation of six hundred thousand Liberian dollars (L$600,000.00) to the Liberia Female National Soccer Team.
