President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. has held high-level bilateral talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as Liberia pursues new strategic partnerships to support investment and economic transformation.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, focused on expanding cooperation in key development sectors including renewable energy, healthcare, tourism, agriculture, education, transport infrastructure, and logistics.

President Boakai commended the UAE for its global leadership in innovation and sustainable development, noting that Liberia is ready to position itself as a destination for investment.

“Liberia is ready to build stronger, forward-looking partnerships that drive mutual prosperity,” President Boakai said.

He emphasized that Liberia’s development priorities align with the UAE’s long-term vision of sustainable growth and economic diversification.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties with Liberia and other African nations, highlighting the importance of mutual respect, shared values, and sustainable development.

The leaders also exchanged views on global and regional security, stressing the importance of cooperation in promoting peace and stability across Africa and the wider international community.

President Boakai was accompanied by senior officials including:

Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Minister of Finance and Development Planning

Hadja Mamaka Bility, Minister of State Without Portfolio

Nathaniel Kwabo, Director General of the Cabinet

Imam Mohammed Dukuly, Liberia’s Ambassador to the UAE

Daniel N. Kolubah, Presidential Envoy on Trade

From the UAE side, attendees included Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, along with several ministers and senior government officials.

The engagement underscores President Boakai’s drive to strengthen Liberia’s diplomatic partnerships and attract foreign investment in support of the government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
