President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., held a tête-à-tête with President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé of Togo during a transit stop in Lomé.

The two leaders exchanged warm greetings and expressed longstanding ties of friendship and solidarity between Liberia and Togo.

Their discussion centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, regional security, and infrastructure development.

They also discussed the need to explore avenues for deepening collaboration within ECOWAS and advancing common positions on regional integration and economic transformation.

President Boakai commended President Gnassingbé for his leadership in promoting peace and stability in the West African subregion and underscored Liberia’s commitment to working with all ECOWAS member states to build a prosperous and united region.

Both leaders expressed their shared interest in boosting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing air and maritime connectivity, and fostering collaboration on agriculture, energy, and climate resilience.

President Gnassingbé graciously offered his aircraft to return President Boakai and his delegation to Monrovia—a gesture for which President Boakai expressed sincere appreciation.
