The National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC-Liberia) has announced three key personnel transfers and promotions affecting its Communications, Political Affairs, and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Sections, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional effectiveness.
The decisions, approved by the NEC Board of Commissioners (BoC), followed recommendations from the Department of Administration and the Secretariat to address critical staffing needs and enhance operational performance.
As part of the changes, Mr. Titus W. Tokpah, Sr., who has served as Deputy Director of Communications since joining the Commission in July 2024, has been promoted to Director of Communications.
According to the NEC, Mr. Tokpah has played a pivotal role in improving the Commission’s public image through effective media relations, strategic public messaging, and increased visibility of NEC activities.
Meanwhile, Mr. Prince Dunbar, outgoing Director of Communications, has been transferred to the position of Director of Political Affairs.
Mr. Dunbar brings extensive experience and proven leadership to his new role, having served the Commission with distinction over the years.
Additionally, Mr. Michael A. Clarke, former Director of Political Affairs and previously Deputy Director of the Monitoring and Evaluation Section, has been transferred to serve as Director of the M&E Section.
His institutional knowledge and technical expertise are expected to strengthen the Commission’s monitoring and evaluation processes.
NEC Director of Human Resources, Mrs. Pauline K. Kawreh, through the Deputy Executive Director for Administration, Mr. Samuel B. Cole, and the Executive Director and Head of Secretariat, Mr. Anthony K. Sengbe, said the transfers and promotions are intended to improve efficiency and support the Commission’s mandate.
