In a major boost to education and community development, Bong County Senator Prince Kermue Moye Sr. has spearheaded the refurbishment of the Kpoloyah Elementary School and announced additional support for volunteer teachers and underprivileged students in the area.
Speaking at the official dedication of the refurbished school on Sunday, September 14, Senator Moye expressed deep appreciation to Joseph Cammue, CEO of Success Construction Company and Pharmacy, along with local education authorities and community members, for their collective efforts in reconstructing the school.
The project, which marks a significant milestone for education in the town, was largely funded by Senator Moye with contributions from the Cammue’s family, community members, and other prominent citizens of Bong County, both at home and abroad.
As part of his continued support for the community, Senator Moye pledged LD$200,000 to aid volunteer teachers and assist underprivileged school-going children for the 2025/2026 academic year.
LD$100,000 of the fund is intended to serve as compensation for teachers while the remaining LD$100,00 will cover tuition fees for students whose parents are unable to afford them.
Additionally, the Senator committed to donating 25 solar panel lights to the school and the town, aimed at improving access to electricity and enhancing learning conditions.
In earlier remarks, Joseph Cammue commended Senator Moye, fellow community members, and project supporters, describing the school’s reconstruction as “a dream come true”.
He also vowed to continue supporting development initiatives within the district, particularly in his native home, Kpoloyah.
Meanwhile, Stephen Mator, principal of Kpoloyah Elementary School, expressed gratitude for the reconstruction and appealed to the Senator to consider building an auditorium to accommodate students and parents during major events.
Senator Moye responded positively, assuring the audience that plans for the auditorium would commence shortly with the support from his office and community members.
He believes that, with the support of everyone to such a community initiative, the community, and people stand to have equal access and responsibility in management.
