Gusceman Business Development and Support Services has launched a Smart Entrepreneurship and Digital Education Program aimed at strengthening digital capacity among entrepreneurs and small businesses across Liberia.

Speaking to journalists following the launch on March 12, 2026 in Monrovia, the Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Augustus F. Flomo, said the initiative is intended to equip entrepreneurs with essential digital and business management skills needed to compete in the modern economy.

Flomo explained that the program will focus on training entrepreneurs in areas such as SME empowerment, digital transformation, trade innovation, and digital marketing.

According to him, the initiative seeks to help small and medium-sized enterprises transition from traditional business practices to more technology-driven operations.

The launch brought together representatives from key investment institutions as well as entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses across the country.

Flomo emphasized that Liberian businesses must increasingly adopt digital transaction systems in order to reduce reliance on physical cash transactions.

He added that the program will also provide training in computer literacy, email communication, and the use of digital tools necessary for modern business operations.

Mr. Flomo further mention that the Digital Education Program (DEP) will help address challenges related to electronic money transfers and the broader transition from physical cash to digital financial systems within Liberia’s business sector.

Gusceman Business Development and Support Services, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, has been operating for more than ten years, providing consultancy services, institutional capacity building, and support aimed at improving efficiency within the country’s business environment.

Flomo is a former government official, who served under the regime of former President George Weah as Deputy Minister of at the Ministry of Financa and Development Planning.

He has further called on the Government of Liberia and international partners to support the initiative in order to expand digital education opportunities for entrepreneurs nationwide.
