President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has been warned to fire officials of government who are not performing and to desist from suspension.
Speaking at programs marking Liberia’s 178th Independence Celebrations Rev. Emmett Dunn said President Boakai’s leadership is marked by his humility, character and his commitment has offered a new tune to the Country’s politics.
“So, I encourage you sir. to lead boldly, to lead transparently, to lead justly, Challenge the old Order, Empower The Next Generation, Fire and don’t suspend”, he re-emphasized.
Speaking further ,he cautioned the Chief Executive that tomorrow, It’s not promised him a second term stating that It’s not guaranteed as such, Clean up the mess, Now.
The decision the National orator stated when done by President Boakai will be for the thousands Whose stood in the rain for him including Liberians generally who are experiencing diverse challenges and hardship .
He used the ocassion to call on Liberians not to see the day as annual rituals but a day of commitment.
“Let us renew our pledge not only to celebrate our past, But to shape our future, Yeah, let us be one. People join to get a nut by convenience, But by covenants, Let us walk together In good times as well as bad in the rain as well as can the sun shall let us hold hands and walk in the valley, Let his whole hands and climb the mountain together to war one Destiny, Not a Destiny hinder to us, but one that we forged together with faith with courage and with love for our beloved Liberia”, he reechoed.
According yo him, Liberia has seen what disunity can do and now is the time to choose what Unity can build.
He told the gathering that Liberia cannot move forward if Liberians loyalty is lies in self-interest, Travelism, Or party politics.
” We must put country first, A ball of personalities above politics evolved profit, Putting Liberia first means telling the truth, Even when it is uncomfortable, this means rejecting corruption, no matter who benefits. It means Mr. President demanding results of those who you have put in position of trust And it beings recognizing that the destiny of this country Lies not in the hand of a few, But in the hands Of all of us”, he added.
He acknowledged that there will be setbacks, But we Liberians are irresian people If they can survive years of civil conflicts, they can overcome unemployment If they can rebuild after Ebola and covid-19. They can, We build trust in our systems, If we can celebrate 107 in years of sovereignty, then show that we can claim that the next 100 years will be years of growth and greatness.
