A dispute over access to water turned violent in the Jimmyville Community, Fish Town on June 18, 2025, leading to a serious stabbing incident that left a 19-year-old man in critical condition.

According to eyewitness accounts, Peter Namah was waiting at a public water pump when a confrontation arose between him and 15-year-old Prince Cummings, a student at Fish Town Demonstration School.

The conflict heightened when Namah reportedly struck Cummings with a stick, prompting Cummings to retaliate by pulling out a silver kitchen knife and stabbing Namah in the back.

Namah was quickly transported to Fish Town Referral Hospital and subsequently moved to J.J. Dossen Hospital in Maryland County for more intensive medical care.

Healthcare professionals have stated that he is currently on oxygen support as they closely monitor his status.

In the aftermath of the incident, police have taken Cummings into custody, and an investigation is ongoing.

The stabbing has raised alarms within the Fish Town community, with residents expressing urgent concerns about rising youth violence and the need for improved conflict resolution strategies among young individuals.
